MEET THE DUO
Roxanne Dawson

In 1996, Roxanne began coming into her own as part of B&B Music performing songs that crossed a number of musical genres, including jazz, pop, and R&B. Roxanne credits her musical influence to such artists as Phyllis Hyman, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Al Jarreau, and Natalie Cole; as well as Will Downing and BeBe &CeCe Winans. However, the musical harmony of groups like Take 6, and Manhattan Transfer helped her develop a keener ear.
Earlier in life, Roxanne had become one of the most requested vocalists in the metropolitan area. Roxanne joined the group “Intrigue” and traveled performing while also refining her vocal skills. "Intrique" has opened for Richard Marx, Aaron Neville, KC and the Sunshine Band and countless others. While singing with Intrigue, she began doing commercials, as well as joining up with a new production team, Moore Newz Productions, who were at the time, staff writers at United Sound Studios in Detroit. That friendship and later business relationship proved to be a musical stabilizing force in Roxanne’s life. Roxanne has performed at many prestigious events; which included singing the National Anthem at one of the Detroit Tiger’s home games.
Over the years Roxanne has recorded the following records: (in order or newest to oldest) “Are You Ready”- Full Album 2011, “Use Me”, which became a #1 dance song in the UK - 1994, “I’m So Into You” (originally recorded by Peabo Bryson) with Kevin McCord and Billy Meadows -1992
